The Electric St. Gotthard Line Switzerland
(The Gotthard Electric Railway)

Buzzi, Daniele, 1924

The first electric express train locomotives were built by Brown, Boveri & Cie. (BBC) in 1920. Daniele Buzzi, who worked as an engineer and architect, is considered to be the founder of Ticinese poster art. After becoming disabled following an operation in 1942, he taught himself graphic design. His posters, which usually feature landscapes, are among the most beautiful Swiss posters there are.
